Widnes Trade Park, Merseyside

Regeneration of a redundant site in a gateway location. Alliance acquired a former derelict distribution complex at the gateway to Widnes Waterfront in a £3.3million deal, which involved a pre-let to Kingfisher Group plc for a 50,000 sq ft B&Q Warehouse.

Alliance worked closely with Halton Borough Council to obtain planning consent for a major retail and trade park to act as a catalyst for the wider regeneration of the area.

An £8.3 million construction programme followed, including demolition of a redundant building, environmental land remediation, construction of a 50,000 sq ft B&Q retail store and 48,000 sq ft trade park. Major highways improvements were also carried out in conjunction with Halton Borough Council.

B&Q anchored the investment with a 20-year lease and the trade park is currently fully let to Edmundson Electrical, Dulux, Screwfix, Johnstones Paints and Jellybeans Play Centre.
