Aldi, Heywood

Acquisition of roadside site and planning consent for food retail store. Alliance acquired a derelict site with a multi storey mill and lodges for £600k. The site was zoned for industrial development due to its proximity to the Green Lane Industrial park. Given the location, a complicated planning process followed, so a series of public meetings were organised to address concerns from the local community.

Planning permission was secured for a 15,000 sq ft food store and 10,000 sq ft non-food retail unit.

The site was sold to Aldi for £2,000,000 together with a separate build contract for Russells Construction Ltd.
